Nuclear Assault – Handle With Care – Cassette
Nuclear Assault – Handle With Care is a pivotal album in the history of thrash metal. Released in 1989 by the American thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, this album remains a classic in the genre. With its potent combination of aggressive music and politically charged lyrics, “Handle With Care” solidified Nuclear Assault’s reputation as one of the leading bands of the late 1980s thrash metal scene.
The album features a compelling mix of tracks that showcase Nuclear Assault’s signature style. From the intense and breakneck pace of “Critical Mass” to the unexpected and experimental “Funky Noise,” “Handle With Care” demonstrates the band’s versatility and willingness to push the boundaries of thrash metal.
One standout track on the album is “When Freedom Dies,” which is not only a sonic assault but also delivers a thought-provoking message about the state of society. Another notable song is “Trail of Tears,” which explores themes of history and injustice with powerful riffs and lyrics.
Nuclear Assault, formed in 1984, played a vital role in shaping the thrash metal landscape with their aggressive sound and socially conscious songwriting. “Handle With Care” is a testament to their impact on the genre, and it continues to resonate with fans of thrash metal worldwide.
Nuclear Assault truly arrived on 1989’s Handle With Care, a record which stands the test of time as one of the East Coast’s best offerings to the thrash metal genre. The development displayed on their previous effort, Survive, was honed to an even tighter focus here, resulting in the band’s best and most powerful album.
For fans of thrash metal looking to explore the genre’s history or those interested in the evolution of politically charged music, Nuclear Assault – Handle With Care is an essential addition to their music collection. Its enduring relevance and influence make it a must-listen for anyone seeking the authentic thrash metal experience.
Even though John Connely and Danny Lilker remain the band’s prime creative forces, drummer Glen Evans also contributes some killer material (“Emergency” and “Search & Seizure”), making Handle With Care Nuclear Assault’s truest band effort. Too bad this only presaged the splintering which would occur on 1991’s disappointing Out of Order. Still, Handle With Care is a perfect introduction, and pretty much all one will ever need from Nuclear Assault.
