Umbra Sumus is an album by English bass guitarist and composer Jah Wobble. The album was released in 1999 and is a collaboration between Jah Wobble and multi-instrumentalist Jaki Liebezeit, best known as the drummer of the influential German band Can.
The title Umbra Sumus is Latin and can be translated to “We Are Shadows.” The collaboration between Jah Wobble and Jaki Liebezeit resulted in a unique blend of ambient, dub, and world music elements.
Jah Wobble, known for his work with Public Image Ltd (PiL) and his solo career, has explored a wide range of musical styles, and Umbra Sumus is another example of his diverse approach to music.
