Since 1993, the four-piece of Sawney Bean brought on their aggressive stylings of punk and surf to their native New York City. Resulting in the comparisons of Dick Dale, the Cramps, the Ramones, and the Fleshtones, the lineup of Arnt Rikardsen (guitars/vocals), Nancy Trudel (guitar/vocals), Mopar Larry Higgs (bass), and Ray Calluori (drums) settled in 1997. Buy or Die Records eventually released Sawney Bean’s debut EP Aloha From the Interzone that same year, followed by a handful of compilation contributions in 1999.
