13th Floor Elevators – Live – Vinyl Record

The 13th Floor Elevators were a pioneering psychedelic rock band that emerged in the 1960s. They are often credited as one of the first bands to use the term “psychedelic” in their music. The core members of the band included Roky Erickson, Tommy Hall, Stacy Sutherland, Benny Thurman, and John Ike Walton.

The band released three studio albums during their active period, “The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators” (1966), “Easter Everywhere” (1967) and “Bull of the Woods” (1969)

The 13th Floor Elevators were known for their distinctive sound, characterized by Roky Erickson’s emotive vocals, Tommy Hall’s electric jug playing, and their exploration of psychedelic and hallucinogenic themes. One of their most well-known songs is “You’re Gonna Miss Me,” which gained popularity and remains a classic of the psychedelic rock genre.

The 13th Floor Elevators had a significant impact on the development of psychedelic and garage rock. They are often cited as an influence on later bands in the psychedelic and alternative rock scenes.

While the 13th Floor Elevators had a relatively short-lived career, their influence and legacy endure. Fans of psychedelic and rock music often appreciate their innovative contributions to the genre.
