Husker Du – Everything Falls Apart – Vinyl Record

Everything Falls Apart is the debut studio album by the American punk rock band Husker Du. It was released on January 9, 1983, on the band’s own label, Reflex Records. Husker Du, consisting of Bob Mould (guitar, vocals), Grant Hart (drums, vocals), and Greg Norton (bass), emerged from the 1980s punk rock scene and became an influential band in the alternative and indie rock genres.

Everything Falls Apart features a raw and energetic sound characteristic of Husker Du’s early punk sound. The album consists of short, fast-paced songs with catchy melodies and introspective lyrics. The band’s signature blend of punk aggression, pop hooks, and introspective songwriting would become hallmarks of their later work.

Despite its independent release, Everything Falls Apart garnered attention and critical acclaim within the punk rock community. The album’s lyrics touch on themes of frustration, disillusionment, and social alienation, reflecting the band’s youthful angst and DIY ethos.

Husker Du’s subsequent albums, such as “Zen Arcade” and “New Day Rising,” would further establish the band’s reputation and influence, solidifying their position as one of the pioneering acts of the alternative rock and indie rock movements.

The album was initially released on the independent record label Reflex Records in vinyl format. Over the years, various reissues and versions of the vinyl have been released by different labels, including the band’s own label, SST Records.

Everything Falls Apart serves as a testament to Husker Du’s early sound and the band’s place in punk rock history. It showcases their energetic and raw approach, setting the stage for their subsequent influential releases.
