Clock – Whoomph There It Is – 12′ Single Vinyl Record
In June 1995, the British pop/dance act Clock released ‘Whoomph! (There It Is)’, a Eurodance cover of Tag Team’s 1993 hit ‘Whoomp! (There It Is)’. This single was featured on their debut album, It’s Time…, and was produced by Stu Allan.
A musical collaboration between Stu Allan and Peter Pritchard, that was fronted by several different vocalists, including Ann-Marie Smith, Lorna Saunders and ODC MC. The almost ‘Pop’ orientated releases that gained chart success, were vastly different to the ‘Happy House’ and ‘Happy Hardcore’ remixes that clubbers and listeners to ‘Key 103’ were familiar with.
Their version of ‘Whoomph! (There It Is)’ exemplifies the Eurodance style prevalent in the mid-1990s, characterized by upbeat tempos, catchy melodies, and a blend of male rapping with female vocals.
