Cherrie Blue is the solo project of Ruth McArdle, also known as Cherrie Blue, who gained prominence as a vocalist for the industrial dance band My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. In 2002, she released her debut solo album, Chemical Messiah, showcasing her distinctive style within the industrial and electronic music scenes.​

Chemical Messiah blends elements of industrial beats, electronic dance rhythms, and neo-psychedelic textures. The album reflects McArdle’s experience with My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, incorporating heavy dance beats and provocative themes.
