Stevie Nicks – The Other Side Of The Mirror – Vinyl Record

Stevie Nicks released the album The Other Side of the Mirror in 1989. This album is notable in her discography for its introspective lyrics and the mystical, reflective themes that pervade its songs. Stevie Nicks, well-known for her distinctive voice and poetic songwriting, often draws on themes of romance, mysticism, and personal reflection, all of which are prominent in this album.

The Other Side of the Mirror is inspired by themes from Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,’ which can be seen in the imaginative and somewhat surreal storytelling in the lyrics. The album features the hit single ‘Rooms on Fire,’ which typifies Nicks’ style of blending heartfelt lyrics with catchy, compelling melodies.

Musically, the album continues Nicks’ exploration of soft rock and pop, with lush production and arrangements that highlight her unique vocal style. The album received a warm reception from fans and critics alike, appreciated for its lyrical depth and mature sound, representing a pivotal moment in Nicks’ solo career post her successes with Fleetwood Mac.

The album features Bruce Hornsby on two tracks – ‘Two Kinds of Love’ (sharing lead vocals with Nicks) and also on background vocals and keyboards on ‘Juliet’.

The track ‘Juliet’ was considered for Fleetwood Mac’s Tango in the Night album, but ultimately was not selected. However, the instrumental version ”Book of Miracles’ was released as a B-side to the ‘Seven Wonders’ single in 1987.

Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers wrote the music for ‘Whole Lotta Trouble, ‘Ghosts’ & ‘Fire Burning’
