Symphonia De Infernali is the sole album by De Infernali, an industrial/electronic side project formed in 1996 by Jon Nödtveidt, renowned as the vocalist and guitarist of the Swedish black metal band Dissection, and Damien Midvinter. Released in 1997 through Nuclear Blast, this album diverges from Nödtveidt’s black metal roots, delving into dark ambient and electronic soundscapes.
The album comprises eight tracks that blend elements of EBM (Electronic Body Music), industrial, and modern classical music, creating an atmospheric and haunting experience. Notably, the track ‘Sign of the Dark’ features uncredited vocals by Dan Swanö, a prominent figure in the Swedish metal scene.
De Infernali was conceived as an outlet for Nödtveidt’s exploration into electronic and ambient music, distinct from his work with Dissection. The project remains a unique entry in his discography, reflecting his versatility as a musician.
