The band—whose name is derived from the phrase “Fuck It Dog, Life’s a Risk”—had built a reputation for loud, fast songs about partying, boredom, and self-destruction. The album blends punk rock, garage rock, and surf-inspired melodies with a slightly more polished production style than their debut. The guitars remain fuzzy and aggressive, the drums hit with relentless urgency, and the songs are still built around catchy, shout-along choruses. However, Too also introduces more dynamic shifts and melodic moments, showing a band experimenting with broader songwriting approaches. Frontman Zac Carper writes candidly about addiction, burnout, and the emotional toll of constant partying and touring. This shift in perspective gives Too an interesting duality. On one hand, it still delivers the wild, loud punk anthems that made FIDLAR popular in the first place. It shows the band maintaining the scrappy garage-punk energy that defined their rise while beginning to explore more personal themes and varied songwriting.
