BTS – ARIRANG – Deluxe Color Version Target Exclusive Vinyl Record
ARIRANG is BTS’s fifth full-length album and the group’s first studio statement after all seven members completed their period of military service. RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook return to the group format with an album centered on identity, belonging, memory, and the complicated meaning of home. Its title invokes “Arirang,” the traditional Korean song carried through generations in many regional forms, giving the record a cultural reference broad enough to hold longing, resilience, separation, and reunion at once.
The album opens by reestablishing BTS as a rap-and-vocal ensemble rather than simply placing seven solo careers side by side. “Body to Body,” “Hooligan,” and “Aliens” move through close harmonies, forceful rhythmic passages, and sudden changes of scale. The performances make productive use of the members’ different tones: the rap line can sharpen an idea through cadence and texture, while the vocal line stretches the same theme into melody. That exchange gives the early sequence the restless energy of a group rediscovering its shared language.
Across “FYA,” “2.0,” “No. 29,” and the lead single “SWIM,” contemporary pop and hip-hop production is set against questions about how people change without losing the experiences that formed them. The music can sound immediate and physical, but the writing repeatedly returns to distance, recognition, and the desire to move forward together. “SWIM” works as an emotional center because its motion suggests both effort and surrender: progress depends on entering the current rather than pretending it is not there.
The second half broadens the album’s emotional range. “Merry Go Round” and “NORMAL” consider repetition and the pressure to appear unchanged, while “Like Animals” and “they don’t know ’bout us” bring a more instinctive, private intensity. “One More Night” and “Please” turn toward direct appeal, allowing quieter phrasing and exposed vocals to carry as much weight as the record’s larger hooks. The sequencing makes reunion feel complex—joyful, certainly, but also marked by the time and uncertainty that preceded it.
“Into the Sun” closes the standard fourteen-song program with an image of movement toward warmth and visibility. Rather than resolving every tension, the finale gathers the album’s central ideas into a forward-looking gesture: roots matter because they make growth possible, and memory matters because it gives change a shape. ARIRANG therefore functions as both a return and a new starting point. It addresses longtime listeners through shared history while remaining focused on what BTS can build as a mature group in the present.
The Deluxe Color Target-exclusive vinyl is the full-color counterpart to the Black and White deluxe package. It extends the standard album with “Come Over” as a fifteenth bonus track and houses the program in an exclusive gatefold outer sleeve. The package also contains a printed inner sleeve, twenty-page color photobook, turntable slipmat, lyric paper, poster, postcard, photo-card set, and holder. Because the two deluxe configurations share their format and bonus program, the color photography and exact UPC are the decisive identifiers. A sealed copy keeps the larger assortment of inserts together in its original arrangement.
