The album features Dead Kennedys’ signature sound characterized by fast-paced punk rock, biting social commentary, and Jello Biafra’s distinct vocal delivery. ‘Frankenchrist’ continues the band’s tradition of politically charged lyrics, addressing topics such as consumerism, censorship, and political corruption.

One of the most notable aspects of Frankenchrist is the inclusion of the track ‘Jock-O-Rama.’ The album also features songs like ‘Soup Is Good Food,’ ‘This Could Be Anywhere (This Could Be Everywhere),’ and ‘MTV – Get off the Air.’

The album’s art, created by Swiss artist H.R. Giger, depicted a landscape of sexual and biological imagery. This led to a legal case against the band for alleged distribution of harmful material to minors. As a result, subsequent pressings of the album were released with the controversial art removed.
