Neil Diamond – Wild at Heart – Target Exclusive Double Compact Disc + Lithograph

Wild at Heart brings together ten previously unheard Neil Diamond songs from the sessions that produced 12 Songs and Home Before Dark. Working again with producer Rick Rubin, Diamond favors close, direct performances that keep the focus on his voice, lyrics, and the sturdy melodic craft behind each composition.

The title track opens a set concerned with love, age, resilience, and the surprises that remain after a long life in music. “You Can’t Have It All,” “The Secret You,” and “You Never Know” sound reflective without becoming distant, drawing strength from Diamond’s plainspoken delivery.

The sessions include musicians such as Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench, whose understated playing supports the songs without crowding them. Rubin’s production continues the stripped-down approach of the earlier albums, allowing acoustic textures, restrained rhythm parts, and Diamond’s weathered vocal presence to carry the emotional weight.

This Target-exclusive edition adds a second disc of ten major hits, including “Sweet Caroline,” “I Am… I Said,” “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “Forever in Blue Jeans,” and “America.” The pairing connects the newly issued material to the songwriting voice listeners have followed across decades.

A limited lithograph is also included with this two-CD version. The result is more substantial than the standard album alone: a late-career studio statement, a compact survey of familiar favorites, and an exclusive visual piece assembled in one package.

Used in good condition with clean, playable records or discs. Packaging may show light shelf or handling wear.
