Description
Quoit – Lounge – Compact Disc
A side project for Napalm Death / Scorn’s Mick Harris, this time under the appellation Quoit, Lounge tends toward the drum’n’bass side of Harris’ typical ambient/jungle experimentalism.
Since abandoning his seat as Napalm Death’s inhumanly fast drummer, Mick Harris has effected a complete self-transformation from death-metal speed demon into dark ambient and drum n’ bass magus. From the dub/metal/terror syntheses of Scorn, originally in conjunction with Nicholas Bullen, and the austere glacial soundscapes of Lull (Harris solo).
Stints with such Bill Laswell projects as Painkiller, Harris has demonstrated an incredible talent for reinvention. With the formation of Possible Records in 1996, Harris added ‘label impresario’ to his impressive credits. LOUNGE was an auspicious debut, both for the Possible imprint and for Harris’ drum n’ bass alter-ego, Quoit.
