RM – Right Place, Wrong Person – Target Exclusive Compact Disc Box Set
Right Place, Wrong Person is RM's second solo album and an eleven-track exploration of displacement, identity, desire, frustration, and the feeling of occupying a situation that does not fit. Known internationally as the leader of BTS, RM uses the record to move beyond a single genre or public role. Alternative hip-hop, indie rock, jazz-inflected passages, electronic texture, and live instrumentation meet writing that can sound analytical in one moment and deliberately physical or absurd in the next.
“Right People, Wrong Place” opens as a compact statement of the album's central dislocation. “Nuts” moves through attraction and damage with a restless groove, while “out of love” rejects attachment in blunt terms. “Domodachi,” featuring Little Simz, brings two distinctive rap voices into a track whose title invokes friendship. The short “? (Interlude)” disrupts the sequence before “Groin” answers discomfort with swagger, humor, and a refusal to make the speaker more easily acceptable.
“Heaven” offers a lighter surface without removing ambiguity, and “LOST!” turns confusion into a buoyant ensemble refrain. The video and song both frame getting lost as a condition that can produce new motion rather than only failure. “Around the world in a day,” featuring Moses Sumney, expands patiently across sections, joining RM's low conversational delivery with Sumney's elastic voice. The collaboration suits an album built around crossings between musical languages and unstable emotional positions.
“ㅠㅠ (Credit Roll)” uses the Korean crying emoticon in a title that treats endings with both sincerity and self-awareness. “Come back to me” closes through acoustic guitar, whistling, and a gradual band arrangement, asking about return without defining one simple destination. The final song's openness complements the album title: being in the wrong place may refer to culture, relationship, fame, expectation, or one's own state of mind, and the record allows those meanings to overlap.
Three physical versions—A, B, and C—were produced with version-specific imagery and are selected randomly for online Target orders. Each large-format package includes a CD, CD envelope, file holder, a folded ten-photo posterbook, a 40-page photobook, an eight-page lyric booklet, two postcards, and two photocards. The Target edition adds one exclusive photocard. The approximately 315 by 270 by 18-millimeter presentation makes the printed visual program a central part of the release.
BIGHIT MUSIC released this Target-exclusive compact-disc configuration May 24, 2024. The disc contains eleven tracks from “Right People, Wrong Place” through “Come back to me.” UPC 196922889639 applies to the randomized retailer edition and does not guarantee version A, B, or C. The exact visible version, disc, file holder, books, postcards, standard photocards, and additional Target photocard should remain together inside the sealed package.
