THIS & THAT finds Stray Kids resisting the idea that a successful group must settle into one predictable sound. The eight-track mini album moves between brass-driven hip-hop, relaxed electropop, R&B, melodic rock, experimental rhythm, and fan-facing anthem without losing the personality of the eight members. Much of the writing is led by 3RACHA—Bang Chan, Changbin, and HAN—so the stylistic range feels connected to the group’s own history rather than assembled from unrelated trends. The result is confident, playful, and unusually broad for a compact release.
“RUN IT” opens with brass and a chant-ready sense of scale, tracing the group’s movement from practice rooms to international stages. The title track relaxes the attack into an easygoing groove but keeps the production full of switchbacks and low-voiced character. “After You” brings bright electropop to a breakup theme, while “FARMING” turns modern hustle culture into deliberately strange, percussive hip-hop. These contrasts make the first half feel like a demonstration of range rather than a single concept repeated four times.
The second half reveals a softer and more melodic side. “I Do” combines rock energy with an open, concert-sized chorus; “Way Out” leans into smooth R&B and the desire to escape pressure; and “Back Then” uses clean bass, guitar, and restrained vocals for a nostalgic mood. A Festival Version of “This & That” closes the program by rebuilding the title song for a larger live environment. Each member is given space to change tone, and the sequencing keeps vocal warmth beside the harder rhythmic experiments.
The limited Truck Version is one of the album’s most elaborate physical editions. Two mini CDs are housed in a truck-shaped case measuring approximately 120 by 90 by 60 millimeters. The package also contains a photo book, one random member photocard, one random unit photocard, one random two-cut photo, and a keychain set pairing a leather keyring with one random member keyring. A convex selfie mirror, epoxy sticker, folded poster, and U.S./EU retail-exclusive postcard complete the set.
