Taylor Swift – Midnights Lavender Edition – Target Exclusive Compact Disc
Midnights is Taylor Swift's tenth studio album, presented as thirteen stories from sleepless nights and expanded on this Target-exclusive Lavender Edition compact disc with three additional recordings. Swift and Jack Antonoff build the album from synthesizers, programmed rhythm, restrained guitars, processed vocals, and close-up writing. Instead of one chronological narrative, the songs revisit different times and emotional states. Anxiety, ambition, attraction, revenge, memory, and self-criticism can therefore sit beside one another as thoughts that surface after the day's explanations have ended.
“Lavender Haze” rejects pressure to make a private relationship conform to public expectation. “Maroon” uses increasingly dark shades of red to measure a memory, and “Anti-Hero” makes uncomfortable self-recognition into a sharply structured pop song. Lana Del Rey appears on “Snow on the Beach,” capturing the unlikely moment when two people discover matching feelings. “You're on Your Own, Kid” follows a long arc from youthful hope to adult endurance, while “Midnight Rain” weighs intimacy against a life built through change.
“Question…?” attempts to reopen a conversation the narrator can no longer have directly. “Vigilante Shit” strips the sound down to controlled threat, and “Bejeweled” answers neglect with renewed visibility. “Labyrinth” turns the return of love into something frightening as well as desired. “Karma” treats consequence as a source of ease, “Sweet Nothing” values a space without demands, and “Mastermind” closes the standard album by revealing the planning beneath romance while admitting the other person may have recognized the plan from the beginning.
The Lavender Edition then adds “Hits Different,” a breakup song whose bright movement contrasts with the narrator's inability to make this loss resemble earlier ones. Two remixes return to central Midnights songs with acoustic emphasis. “You're on Your Own, Kid (Strings Remix)” brings orchestral texture to the album's statement of independence, while “Sweet Nothing (Piano Remix)” reduces the arrangement around its quiet domestic center. These are edition-specific audio tracks, not part of the standard thirteen-song vinyl program.
The physical presentation uses a lavender-colored disc with marbled appearance, unique full-cover front and back artwork, a unique disc-face design, and a collectible lyric booklet with photographs. The package belongs to Target's exclusive Midnights configuration and should not be identified only by the main album title. Unlike the Jade Green vinyl, this compact disc contains sixteen tracks. It does not include the seven 3am Edition songs, and it should not be represented as The Til Dawn Edition or The Late Night Edition.
