The Idols with Sid Vicious – Compact Disc
The Idols were a British punk rock band that gained some notoriety in the punk scene during the late 1970s. One of their notable members was Sid Vicious, who is more famously known as the bassist for the Sex Pistols.
Formed by Jerry Nolan after he left The Heartbreakers in the summer of 1977. They became the backing band for Sid Vicious at his New York gigs. The Idols folded in late 1979. Steve Dior and Barry Jones then formed the London Cowboys. Barry Jones later went on to play with Johnny Thunders alongside Jerry Nolan.
Sid Vicious, best known as the bassist for the influential punk rock band Sex Pistols, had a relatively short-lived music career due to his untimely death in 1979.
Sid Vicious joined The Idols after his time with the Sex Pistols, during a period when he was trying to continue his music career after the dissolution of the Sex Pistols. His involvement with The Idols was relatively short-lived and is part of the larger story of Sid Vicious’s post-Sex Pistols musical endeavors.
