Army Of Lovers – Judgement Day – Seven Inch Vinyl Record
Judgement Day is a song by the Swedish pop group Army of Lovers.
The flamboyant multi-cultural Swedish dance-pop group Army of Lovers formed in 1987, the brainchild of composer and producer Alexander Bard. Five years earlier Bard first emerged as a member of the short-lived trio Baard, best known for the single ‘Life in a Goldfish Bowl.’
In 1985 in drag, no less, he led Barbie, a band also comprising hairdresser Jean-Pierre Barda (alias Farouk), Yazmina Chantal and model Camilla Henemark (a.k.a. Katanga); two years later, Bard, Barda and Henemark (now performing under the name La Camilla) founded Army of Lovers, taking the name in honor of the 1970s cult movie Armee der Liebenden.
Judgement Day by Army of Lovers is a pop track known for its catchy and upbeat sound. The group, which was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was known for its campy and flamboyant style. Judgement Day is a part of their body of work that often incorporated elements of dance-pop and Euro disco.
The song’s lyrics may involve themes of love, relationships, or personal experiences, and it’s typically presented in a colorful and theatrical fashion, which is characteristic of Army of Lovers’ style.
The group’s music often featured playful and extravagant visuals, and Judgement Day likely reflects their over-the-top and eccentric approach to pop music. It was a part of the pop scene of its time and contributed to the group’s reputation for delivering entertaining and flamboyant performances.
Judgement Day by Army of Lovers is an example of the pop music trends of the late 1980s and early 1990s, known for its campy and theatrical flair.
