Katydids was a band that somehow got lost in the shuffle in the early 1990s after releasing two fantastic albums (Katydids in 1989 and Shangri-la in 1991) on Reprise Records. The band was founded by vocalist Susie Hug and guitarist Adam Seymour, adding Dan James on guitar, David Hunter on bass, and Shane Young on drums.

Unfortunately, when neither album sold well, Reprise dropped the band, and they broke up. With the right promotion, fans of REM, 10,000 Maniacs, and other similar bands surely would have embraced the quintet.

After a long hiatus from releasing her own material, Susie Hug’s embarked on a solo career, having released two EPs and an album, and her husband Adam Seymour has been playing with The Pretenders since shortly after Katydids broke up.
