Description
Godsmack – 1000hp – Vinyl Record
1000hp is Godsmack’s sixth studio album and a deliberate return to the force of the band’s earlier records. Released in 2014, it was produced by Dave Fortman with the group and built around Tony Rombola’s guitar, Robbie Merrill’s bass, Shannon Larkin’s drums, and Sully Erna’s unmistakable vocal attack.
The title track looks back at Godsmack’s rise from small Boston clubs to large stages, using a blunt central riff and crowd-ready chorus. Its autobiographical angle gives the aggression a specific subject rather than functioning as a generic opening statement.
“Something Different” broadens the dynamics with a more melodic structure, while “What’s Next?” and “Locked & Loaded” return to tighter, heavier patterns. Larkin’s drumming supplies much of the album’s movement through fills that push against the riffs.
“Generation Day” stretches beyond the band’s usual compact format, and “Living in the Gray” brings a darker atmosphere to the later sequence. The production is polished but leaves enough separation for the rhythm section to retain physical impact.
This vinyl edition presents the complete ten-track album. 1000hp balances a conscious return to Godsmack’s core sound with enough variation in tempo and arrangement to make it more than a simple recreation of the band’s past.
Brand new, never played and still sealed in the factory plastic
