Gracie Abrams – The Secret of Us Deluxe – Transparent Moonlight Double Vinyl Record
The Secret of Us Deluxe expands Gracie Abrams’ second album into a seventeen-song vinyl program that follows private uncertainty as it becomes outward, conversational pop. Abrams works primarily with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner, alongside contributions from Audrey Hobert and others, to build songs around acoustic movement, close vocal detail, and choruses designed to release accumulated tension. The deluxe sequence retains the original album and adds four studio recordings that extend its emotional aftermath.
Side one moves quickly from the self-questioning “Felt Good About You” into the nervous lift of “Risk” and the sharper perspective of “Blowing Smoke.” “I Love You, I’m Sorry” compresses apology, affection, and resignation into one of the album’s clearest hooks. “us.” brings Taylor Swift into a layered recollection of a relationship, while “Let It Happen” and “Tough Love” close the side by testing whether vulnerability can coexist with boundaries and forward motion.
The second side deepens that arc. “I Knew It, I Know You” and “Gave You I Gave You I” examine what remains after one person has invested more than the other can return. “Normal Thing” considers the distance between a public figure and the listener who imagines knowing them, and “Good Luck Charlie” turns attention toward a friend’s complicated romance. “Free Now” seeks release, while “Close to You” ends the original album with direct, restless desire.
Side three contains the four deluxe additions. “Cool” tries to perform composure while exposing everything underneath it, and “That’s So True” converts jealousy and observation into an immediate sing-along. “I Told You Things” slows the pace to confront the vulnerability of having revealed too much, while “Packing It Up” closes the playable program with a warmer sense of surprise and possibility. Together, the songs feel like a concise second chapter rather than detached bonus material.
Abrams’ writing depends on specificity: remembered conversations, contradictory impulses, and the instant when confidence gives way to confession. The arrangements support that intimacy but are not uniformly quiet. Percussion, stacked voices, and rising guitars allow several songs to open into communal pop without losing the diary-like point of view. The collaboration with Swift on “us.” fits naturally because the album repeatedly examines how a private story changes once it is retold, performed, and shared.
Released January 17, 2025 by Interscope Records, this deluxe edition is pressed as two transparent moonlight vinyl records. The seventeen tracks occupy sides A through C, while side D carries a decorative etching. Because the vinyl program does not include the digital edition’s live recordings, the exact contents are listed below. The UPC identifies this clear moonlight configuration and separates it from the standard thirteen-track LP and other colored deluxe variants.
