Released in 1986, Take It Back by Washington, D.C.-based post-hardcore band Gray Matter. Formed in 1983, the band consisted of Geoff Turner (vocals and guitar), Mark Haggerty (guitar), Steve Niles (bass), and Dante Ferrando (drums). This EP captures the band’s raw melodic energy characteristic of the mid-1980s D.C. punk scene.
Take It Back exemplifies Gray Matter’s blend of punk intensity and melodic sensibility, reflecting the ethos of the D.C. hardcore scene during that era.
