Strange Trails is Lord Huron’s cinematic second album, a collection of haunted love songs, supernatural western imagery, and interconnected characters moving through woods, roads, graves, and memories. The record’s atmosphere helped “The Night We Met” become a lasting favorite, but the full sequence creates a much larger world around it.

“Love Like Ghosts,” “Until the Night Turns,” “Dead Man’s Hand,” and “Hurricane” open with reverb, narrative detail, and forward motion. “La Belle Fleur Sauvage,” “Fool for Love,” and “The World Ender” widen the cast and mythology while keeping the melodies direct enough to stand outside the story.

The second record contains “Meet Me in the Woods,” “The Yawning Grave,” “Frozen Pines,” “Cursed,” “Way Out There,” “Louisa,” and “The Night We Met.” Heard in order, the familiar closing song feels like the emotional destination of the album rather than an isolated streaming-era hit.

This tenth-anniversary edition is pressed on two 180-gram records, housed in a gatefold jacket with re-illustrated artwork, and includes a new twenty-page comic book titled The Yawning Grave. Those additions make the anniversary package meaningfully different from a standard repress.
