Rain is a song by American singer Madonna from her fifth studio album, Erotica, which was released in 1992. The song was written and produced by Madonna and Shep Pettibone.
Rain is a sensual and introspective ballad that showcases Madonna’s emotional vocal delivery. The song features a dreamy and atmospheric sound, with soft piano chords, electronic beats, and strings complementing Madonna’s vocals. The lyrics of ‘Rain’ evoke themes of love, vulnerability, and the desire to be connected with someone.
The music video for Rain was directed by Mark Romanek and was praised for its artistic and visually striking presentation. In the video, Madonna appears in a black-and-white setting, dancing in the rain and creating a captivating and poetic visual experience.
Although Rain wasn’t as commercially successful as some of Madonna’s other hit singles, it received positive reviews from critics and remains a fan favorite. The song’s emotive quality and Madonna’s expressive performance have contributed to its enduring appeal.
Rain is a standout track on the ‘Erotica’ album, which was notable for its exploration of more mature and provocative themes in both its music and imagery.
