Mandy Moore – In Real Life – D2C Vinyl Record
Limited Edition Blue Marble (Website Exclusive)
In Real Life finds Mandy Moore writing from the intersection of family life, marriage, and a renewed commitment to music. Released in 2022, it continues the warm, seventies-informed direction of Silver Landings while sounding more settled and immediate. Moore co-wrote the material with a circle that includes husband Taylor Goldsmith, and Mike Viola’s production keeps the songs grounded in a live-band feel.
The title track opens with the wonder and disorientation of becoming a parent, setting the album’s emotional scale through domestic details rather than grand declarations. “Heartlands” and “Little Dreams” widen that perspective, pairing Moore’s clear, conversational vocal with acoustic guitars, keyboards, and rhythm arrangements that favor texture over pop gloss.
Much of the record explores how affection changes over time. “Four Moons” carries an easy romantic glow, “Living in the In Between” accepts uncertainty as a permanent condition, and “Little Victories” finds meaning in incremental progress. The writing is adult without becoming solemn; melodies remain direct, and the band leaves enough air for the lyrics to register.
The closing stretch is especially strong. “Heavy Lifting” acknowledges the work behind lasting relationships, “Brand New Nowhere” brings a brighter pulse, and “Every Light” ends the album with a sense of forward motion. Moore’s performance throughout is unforced, relying on phrasing and tone instead of oversized vocal display.
This direct-to-consumer vinyl edition contains the complete eleven-song album in its original sequence. The physical format suits Viola’s organic production, which draws its character from blended voices, natural drums, guitar warmth, and the small changes in emphasis that occur when musicians play together.
Brand new, never played and still sealed in the factory plastic
