HADES is Melanie Martinez’s fourth album, a confrontational seventeen-track vinyl program built around control, alienation, social pressure, and the systems that turn private pain into spectacle. Its visual world is as deliberate as the music, making the physical edition a major part of the release.

“GARBAGE,” “IS THIS A CULT?,” “POSSESSION,” and “WHITE BOY WITH A GUN” open with a harsh edge. “DISNEY PRINCESS,” “GRUDGES,” “MONOPOLY MAN,” and “AVOIDANT” twist familiar language into songs about performance, power, resentment, and emotional distance.

The later sequence contains “MONOLITH,” “WEIGHT WATCHERS,” “THE PLAGUE,” “BATSHIT INTELLIGENCE,” “GUTTER,” “UNCANNY VALLEY,” “THE VATICAN,” “HELL’S FRONT PORCH,” and “CHATROOM.” The vinyl program ends there, making it distinct from the eighteen-track compact disc.

This Victorian Blush two-LP edition uses pink colored vinyl in a gatefold jacket and includes a twenty-page booklet plus a 12-by-24-inch poster. The combination of color, artwork, and inserts makes it the collector-oriented HADES configuration in this batch.
