Description
Nat King Cole – A Sentimental Christmas – Clear Red Vinyl Record
A Sentimental Christmas places Nat King Cole’s historic Capitol vocals inside newly created arrangements designed to connect his unmistakable phrasing with contemporary guests. The project does not present an untouched archival Christmas album. It combines restored performances, fresh orchestral settings, interludes, and duet construction, allowing Cole’s voice to remain central while changing the musical surroundings.
The opening medley joins “Deck the Hall” and “Joy to the World” in a bright orchestral frame. “O Come All Ye Faithful / The First Noel” continues the sacred program before “The Very Thought of You” widens the concept beyond strictly Christmas material. An “Auld Lang Syne” interlude helps the sequence move from holiday celebration toward romantic remembrance.
“(I Love You) for Sentimental Reasons” brings Cole’s intimate timing into the foreground. “O Holy Night” provides a larger dramatic setting, while “O Little Town of Bethlehem / Silent Night” returns to quieter reverence. The brief “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” interlude acts as another transition rather than a full showcase.
“A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square” and “The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot” emphasize Cole’s ability to tell a story without overstating its emotion. The closing “The Christmas Song” returns to the performance most closely associated with his holiday legacy. Across the album, the guests and modern arrangements are used to frame that voice, not replace it.
This Capitol Records edition presses the complete 11-track program on clear red vinyl. UPC 602438169191 identifies this colored configuration. The album includes its medleys and interludes in the listed sequence, making it distinct from a standard Nat King Cole Christmas compilation assembled only from original masters.
Brand new, never played and still sealed in the factory plastic
