Rick Ross – Port of Miami – Fruit Punch Double Vinyl Record

Port of Miami is Rick Ross’s debut album and the record that established his larger-than-life Miami persona. Released in 2006, it pairs Ross’s deep, measured voice with production that is often cinematic: heavy drums, soul samples, tense keyboard lines, and choruses designed to sound expansive. The album title frames the city’s port as both geographic reality and metaphor for movement, commerce, ambition, and danger.

After the “Intro,” “Push It” uses a familiar Scarface reference to set the scale. “Blow,” featuring Dre of Cool & Dre, sharpens the Miami connection before “Hustlin’” delivers the minimalist anthem that made Ross a national figure. Its repeated hook leaves room for the detail and authority of his verses. “Cross That Line,” featuring Akon, brings a more melodic warning into the sequence.

“I’m Bad,” “Boss,” and “For da Low” continue the album’s emphasis on status and street economics. “Where My Money (I Need That)” makes the demand literal, while “Get Away” and “Hit U from the Back” vary the tone through melody and guest vocals. The production changes enough to prevent the long program from settling into one undifferentiated mood.

The second half moves through “White House,” “Pots and Pans,” and “It’s My Time” before Lloyd appears on “Street Life.” The “Hustlin’” remix brings Jay-Z and Young Jeezy into the album’s central song. “It Ain’t a Problem” and “I’m a G,” featuring Brisco and Lil Wayne, extend the regional network, while “Prayer” closes on a more reflective note.

This Hip Hop 50th Anniversary edition presses the complete 19-track album on two fruit-punch-colored vinyl records. UPC 602455794505 identifies this limited Def Jam configuration. The full original program is retained, including the “Hustlin’” remix, late-album collaborations, and closing “Prayer.”
