Recorded on February 18, 2006, during the A Bigger Bang Tour, this monumental concert took place on the sands of Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and drew an estimated 1.5 million people—making it one of the largest free concerts ever held. It was finally released officially in expanded and remixed form in 2021, through Mercury Studios.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and the Rio skyline, this performance wasn’t just a concert—it was a cultural event of epic proportions. The stage was constructed on the beach itself, with a special walkway bridge built to connect the Stones’ hotel directly to the stage.
