Rosalía – LUX – Double Clear Vinyl Records with Poster and Bonus Tracks

LUX approaches the possibilities of a Rosalía album on an orchestral scale. Released in 2025 as her fourth studio record, it follows MOTOMAMI with a work organized into four movements and informed by her study of women associated with faith and spiritual life. The London Symphony Orchestra supplies an important foundation, but the music also retains flamenco, electronic sound and the rhythmic flexibility of her earlier work. Rosalía sings in multiple languages, treating changes of language as part of the album’s musical and dramatic expression. This clear double-vinyl edition contains the eighteen-track physical program, placing three additional songs within the movements rather than gathering them in an unrelated section after the ending.

The opening movement runs from “Sexo, Violencia y Llantas” through “Reliquia,” “Divinize,” “Porcelana” and “Mio Cristo.” Its five titles establish an album comfortable with sharp changes in scale and atmosphere. Rosalía’s voice remains central even when the surrounding music takes on symphonic weight; the character of a phrase can carry as much tension as the larger arrangement. Her interest in spiritual figures does not remove earthly subjects from the record. Instead, devotion, desire and personal transformation occupy the same musical world. The first movement introduces that relationship before the album begins to move further between intimate songs and scenes with a more theatrical sense of space.

“Berghain” begins the second movement, bringing Björk and Yves Tumor into one of the album’s most dramatic collaborations. “La Perla,” with Yahritza y Su Esencia, takes a different route, while “Mundo Nuevo” and “De Madrugá” complete the side. The changes in performers and musical setting make this a particularly concentrated view of the album’s range. Orchestral writing can coexist with a more exposed song shape, and flamenco elements can meet contemporary electronic treatment without requiring Rosalía to choose a single tradition for the entire record. Her previous albums had already made those crossings part of her identity. LUX enlarges the setting and allows its contrasts to become more openly dramatic.

The physical program’s third movement includes “Dios Es Un Stalker,” “La Yugular,” “Focu ’Ranni,” “Sauvignon Blanc” and “Jeanne.” The fourth begins with “Novia Robot (Pa Lo Mismo),” followed by “La Rumba del Perdón,” “Memória” and “Magnolias.” “Focu ’Ranni,” “Jeanne” and “Novia Robot” were introduced as physical-edition exclusives, so their positions are part of the album experience offered by this pressing. The full sequence makes the final two movements longer and more varied than the original fifteen-track digital release. By keeping those songs inside the structure, the vinyl preserves the four-part conception while presenting its expanded form. The ending remains “Magnolias,” which gives the larger work its closing destination.

Two clear records are housed in a gatefold jacket with a folded poster. Each side corresponds to one of the album’s four movements, giving the eighteen songs a physical organization that follows the work’s design. LUX is particularly suited to listeners interested in the reach of Rosalía’s voice and her willingness to place flamenco beside other musical languages. The London Symphony Orchestra, the guest appearances and the additional physical-program songs all contribute to the scale of this edition. It records a change in emphasis after MOTOMAMI: the dramatic possibilities of orchestration and spiritually informed storytelling occupy more room, while rhythmic experimentation and the direct personality of her singing remain essential to its character.
