Sex Pistols – The Original Recordings – Double Vinyl Record
The Original Recordings gathers the Sex Pistols’ brief studio history into a 20-track sequence that extends beyond Never Mind the Bollocks. The familiar album material is joined by B-sides, covers, and additional recordings, showing how much impact the band generated from a remarkably small catalog.
“Pretty Vacant,” “God Save the Queen,” and “Anarchy in the U.K.” retain their immediate force because the performances are disciplined beneath the provocation. Steve Jones’s layered guitar, Paul Cook’s direct drumming, and Glen Matlock or Sid Vicious on bass give John Lydon’s vocal a solid, uncluttered frame.
Album tracks such as “Bodies,” “No Feelings,” “Submission,” and “Problems” demonstrate that the group could vary tempo and tension without abandoning its basic attack. “Holidays in the Sun” and “New York” make repetition feel confrontational rather than simple.
The later sides collect important non-album material. “Did You No Wrong,” “Satellite,” and “I Wanna Be Me” sit beside covers of “No Fun,” “Road Runner,” “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone,” and “Whatcha Gonna Do About It,” documenting the band’s roots in garage rock and stripped-down rhythm and blues.
Pressed across two records, The Original Recordings is a practical, broad vinyl anthology rather than another straight reissue of the sole studio album. It captures the essential singles while making room for the rougher edges and borrowed songs that helped define the Sex Pistols’ sound.
Brand new, never played and still sealed in the factory plastic
