The Mighty Lemon Drops – Laughter – Vinyl Record
Laughter is the debut studio album by the British alternative rock band The Mighty Lemon Drops, released in 1986. The Mighty Lemon Drops were known for their jangly guitar-driven sound, melodic hooks, and catchy songwriting, which often drew comparisons to other bands of the era like The Smiths and The Cure.
Laughter features a collection of energetic and infectious tracks that capture the band’s distinctive sound and youthful exuberance. The album’s title track, ‘At Midnight,’ is a standout single that showcases The Mighty Lemon Drops’ knack for crafting memorable melodies and anthemic choruses.
Other key tracks from the album include ‘Into the Heart of Love,’ ‘Where Do We Go from Heaven,’ and ‘All That I Can Do,’ among others. These songs highlight the band’s ability to blend catchy pop sensibilities with indie rock grit, creating a sound that resonated with audiences during the 1980s alternative rock scene.
Laughter may not have achieved the same level of commercial success as some of the band’s later albums, it remains a beloved cult classic among fans of indie and alternative rock. The album’s infectious energy and timeless appeal continue to captivate listeners to this day.
