Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack completes the musical journey begun in the first Wicked film, moving Elphaba and Glinda from possibility into consequence. Stephen Schwartz’s Act Two songs are darker, more politically charged, and more intimate, asking what happens when public stories harden around people who can no longer control them. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return with performances shaped by everything their characters have lost and chosen, while the wider cast gives Oz the scale of a society dividing around them.

“Every Day More Wicked” and “Thank Goodness / I Couldn’t Be Happier” establish two competing realities: Elphaba’s demonization and Glinda’s increasingly strained public success. The newly written “No Place Like Home,” performed by Erivo, expands Elphaba’s relationship to Oz beyond the stage score. “The Wicked Witch of the East” is especially significant because the dramatic sequence had never previously appeared as a complete track on the Original Broadway Cast Recording, giving this soundtrack an important piece of musical storytelling.

The middle sequence contains several of Wicked’s most intense songs. Jeff Goldblum, Grande, and Erivo bring shifting power to “Wonderful,” while “I’m Not That Girl (Reprise)” reverses an earlier emotional position. “As Long As You’re Mine” pairs Erivo with Jonathan Bailey for a moment of urgent intimacy, and “No Good Deed” gives Elphaba her most explosive confrontation with grief and reputation. “March of the Witch Hunters” turns fear into collective action, making the surrounding conflict feel unavoidable.

Grande’s new song “The Girl in the Bubble” examines Glinda’s protected image from inside, adding a film-specific counterpart to Elphaba’s new material. The title duet “For Good” then brings the soundtrack to its emotional purpose: two friends recognizing that influence can remain even when circumstances force them apart. On vinyl, the eleven-track sequence has room to function as a complete dramatic album, with original songs and familiar stage material integrated into the film’s concluding narrative.
