Songs: Ohia – Magnolia Electric Company Co – Vinyl Record

Magnolia Electric Company Co brings Songs: Ohia’s music together in a complete 19-track vinyl record edition. Working within Alternative, the album emphasizes guitar texture, rhythm-section drive, dynamic contrast, and direct performance energy. The sequence matters because the songs are arranged to create a sustained program, allowing individual highlights to stand on their own while still belonging to a larger beginning, middle, and conclusion.

The opening stretch begins with “Farewell Transmission”, “I’ve Been Riding with the Ghost”, and “Just Be Simple”. Those selections establish the album’s voice and introduce the performance and production choices that carry through the rest of the record. Rather than placing the best-known song in isolation, the sequence lets the surrounding material supply contrast and context, giving the listener a better sense of how Songs: Ohia shaped Magnolia Electric Company Co as a complete release.

At the center of the program, “The Big Game Is Every Night”, “Whip Poor Will”, and “Farewell Transmission (Demo)” keep the album moving while broadening its musical and emotional range. The value of this middle section is cumulative: changes in tempo, density, vocal approach, and arrangement prevent the record from settling into a single repeated mood. Heard in order, these tracks connect the opening statement with the closing run and give the album much of its character.

The final portion arrives at “Hold on Magnolia (Demo)”, “The Big Game Is Every Night (Demo)”, and “Whip Poor Will (Demo)”. A strong closing sequence can resolve themes introduced earlier, leave the record deliberately open-ended, or simply change the emotional weight of what came before. Here, the last songs complete the program without reducing the release to one single or familiar title.

Brand new, never played and still sealed in the factory plastic
