Description

Mick Jagger – The Very Best of Mick Jagger – Double Vinyl Record

The Very Best of Mick Jagger follows the singer outside the Rolling Stones and shows how broad his solo work became. The collection moves from the polished mid-1980s sound of “Just Another Night” and “Lucky in Love” to the tougher guitars of “God Gave Me Everything,” presenting Jagger as a writer and bandleader with a catalog distinct from his famous group.

Rather than arranging the material strictly by date, the sequence emphasizes contrast. “Sweet Thing” leans into clipped funk, “Let’s Work” carries the oversized rhythmic production of its era, and “Don’t Tear Me Up” balances rock drive with a more reflective lyric. The changes in personnel and studio approach keep the compilation from behaving like one long album.

Several selections widen the picture beyond conventional singles. “Joy” pairs Jagger with Bono, while “Checkin’ Up on My Baby” brings his harmonica playing to the front. “Evening Gown” closes on a country-soul note, revealing a relaxed vocal character that can be obscured by the swagger of the better-known tracks.

The real archival attraction is “Too Many Cooks (Spoil the Soup),” recorded in 1973 with John Lennon producing and a large cast of Los Angeles musicians. Long circulated unofficially, the performance gives the set historical weight and links Jagger’s solo identity to the loose, collaborative studio culture of the early 1970s.

This double-vinyl edition presents the 13-track compilation in a spacious format. It is a useful introduction for listeners who know Jagger primarily through the Stones, but it also gathers scattered soundtrack and collaborative recordings in one coherent program for established fans.

Brand new, never played and still sealed in the factory plastic
