BLACKPINK return as a complete group on DEADLINE, a concentrated five-track release that follows years in which JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ and LISA each expanded her individual identity. That solo growth makes the reunion more interesting: the voices are even more recognizable now, yet the record immediately restores the rapid exchanges, vocal contrasts and controlled swagger that belong specifically to BLACKPINK.
The opening “JUMP” is built for collective motion, turning a blunt command into the kind of hook that can travel across an arena. “GO,” the title track, places all four members among its credited writers and carries the comeback forward rather than looking backward. “Me and my” changes the emotional angle, while “Champion” and “Fxxxboy” keep the short program from softening at the finish.
Five tracks can easily feel slight, but DEADLINE treats brevity as pressure. The production moves without long transitions, and every member enters with a tone or cadence that can be identified within seconds. Rap passages add bite, the sung lines open the melodic center, and the group refrains provide the release. It is less a survey of every direction BLACKPINK might take than a focused statement of why the four-part combination remains distinctive.
The Black Version pairs the CD with a 72-page photobook, four selfie photocards, four photo stickers, a graphic sticker and a group folded poster. Target’s exclusive component is one random photocard from a four-card set. These paper goods and randomized pieces are integral to the edition, which is why factory sealing and completeness matter to collectors just as much as the correct disc.
