Nils Lofgren is an American rock musician, singer, and songwriter known for his work as a guitarist. He was born on June 21, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. Lofgren has had a notable and versatile career, contributing to various musical projects and bands.
Nils Lofgren has released numerous solo albums, showcasing his skills as a singer and songwriter. Some of his well-known solo works include “Nils Lofgren” (1975), “Cry Tough” (1976), and “Acoustic Live” (1997).
Lofgren has been a member of Neil Young’s backing band, Crazy Horse. He has played on several of Young’s albums and participated in various tours with the iconic Canadian musician.
Lofgren is perhaps best known for being a long-time member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. He joined the band in the mid-1980s, replacing Steven Van Zandt. His contributions as a guitarist and vocalist have been significant to the E Street Band’s sound. Beyond his work with Springsteen and Young, Lofgren has been a sought-after session musician, collaborating with artists across different genres.
