The 2020 Deluxe Edition was issued as part of a broader reappraisal of the band’s catalog, offering a remastered version of the original album along with B-sides, alternate mixes, demos, and live recordings from the era.
The 1996 album itself marked a stylistic shift. Following the massive global success of No Need to Argue, the band embraced a heavier, more direct alternative rock sound. Produced by Bruce Fairbairn (known for his work with Aerosmith and Bon Jovi), the record features thicker guitar tones, more aggressive drum production, and a denser overall mix compared to their earlier releases. The sonic change aligned them more closely with mid-’90s mainstream rock.
