Ariel Pink Haunted Graffiti – House Arrest – Double Vinyl Record

House Arrest is an album by American recording artist Ariel Pink, released under the name Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti.

House Arrest was originally self-released by Ariel Pink in 2002. It gained attention and was later reissued by Paw Tracks in 2006.

Ariel Pink is known for his lo-fi and eclectic musical style. House Arrest is characterized by its DIY production, combining elements of psychedelic pop, lo-fi recording techniques, and a nostalgic, retro aesthetic. The album was recorded by Ariel Pink at home using a multitrack recorder. The lo-fi, bedroom recording approach contributes to the album’s distinctive sound.

“Hardcore Pops Are Fun”: A standout track known for its catchy melodies and lo-fi production and “Interesting Results”: An experimental and quirky song that reflects Ariel Pink’s unconventional approach to songwriting.

House Arrest is an example of the lo-fi or cassette culture movement, where artists embraced DIY recording methods and self-released their music on cassette tapes. The album’s DIY (do-it-yourself) aesthetic is evident not only in the production but also in the album artwork and overall presentation.

While “House Arrest” may not have been widely recognized upon its initial release, it has gained retrospective acclaim for its influence on the lo-fi indie music scene. The reissue by Paw Tracks in 2006 brought the album to a broader audience, and Ariel Pink’s unique sound started to receive more attention.

Ariel Pink continued to release music and gained increased recognition with subsequent albums, including “Before Today” (2010) and “Pom Pom” (2014).

House Arrest is considered a significant work in Ariel Pink’s discography, representing a particular moment in the evolution of lo-fi indie music. House Arrest showcases Ariel Pink’s experimental and lo-fi approach to music, and its influence on the indie music landscape can be observed in the growing interest in DIY recording methods and the resurgence of cassette culture aesthetics.

Audio restored from the original master cassette tapes, presented in true stereo for the first time ever, newly remastered.

Expanded across two LPs and including the first-ever vinyl appearance of “The People I’m Not,” “Oceans of Weep,” “Netherlands,” and “Higher and Higher.”
