At the center of this universe was Lore Orion, a talented frontman, songwriter and artist whose name sounds like something spawned in the backroom of a new age kiosk. Thanks to Tim McGraw, a country star from a much later era, the Bandera band may yet switch on the spotlight. He recorded cover versions of several Bandera numbers including ‘Illegal’ for his album Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors. Producer Pat Higdon must also be happy over this development, as it allows him to rewrite music business history, altering Bandera from one of his early production fizzles to something prophetic, ahead of its time.
