Mournblade – Times Running Out – Vinyl Record

Mournblade was a band that emerged from the UK’s underground rock scene in the mid-1980s, associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. Known for their energetic and intense performances, they infused their music with elements of sci-fi and fantasy, often drawing comparisons to other space rock and metal bands of that era.

Their album Time’s Running Out, released in 1985, captures the essence of Mournblade’s style, which combines heavy metal riffs, high-energy rock, and thematic elements reminiscent of bands like Hawkwind. The album is characterized by aggressive guitar work, driving rhythms, and vocals that range from melodic to shouting, all aimed at creating a powerful sonic impact.

The tracks typically explore themes of dystopian futures and cosmic battles, aligning with the band’s overall aesthetic and lyrical interests. Time’s Running Out resonates with fans who appreciate the blend of theatricality and the raw, unpolished energy typical of the underground metal scene of the 1980s. This album, while perhaps not as widely recognized as those from the genre’s leading bands, holds a special place in the hearts of metal enthusiasts who cherish the era’s unique blend of music and fantasy.
