Brenda Lee – Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Pink Vinyl Record

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree places Brenda Lee’s enduring holiday hit inside a broader program of seasonal recordings from her classic Decca years. Lee recorded the title song in 1958 while still a teenager, yet her full-bodied voice and rhythmic confidence made the performance sound timeless rather than juvenile. The collection expands beyond that single to reveal her range across rock-and-roll novelties, winter standards, country-pop ballads, and sacred material.

The title track opens with its instantly recognizable guitar and saxophone arrangement. “Papa Noel” and “Christy Christmas” preserve the playful side of Lee’s early holiday singles. “This Time of the Year” changes the mood toward longing, while “Jingle Bell Rock” lets her return to a rhythm-driven standard. “I’m Gonna Lasso Santa Claus” captures the spirited personality that earned her the Little Miss Dynamite nickname.

“Winter Wonderland,” “Silver Bells,” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” receive polished Nashville-pop settings. “The Angel and the Little Blue Bell” is a gentler story song, and “Frosty the Snowman” remains light without becoming anonymous. Lee’s diction keeps even the most familiar material connected to a distinct singer rather than a generic holiday arrangement.

The later part of the program carries more emotional variety. “Christmas Will Be Just Another Lonely Day” and “Blue Christmas” acknowledge isolation, while “A Marshmallow World” restores warmth and swing. “Strawberry Snow” adds a less frequently anthologized selection before “White Christmas,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Silent Night” close with traditional favorites.

This MCA Records edition presses all 18 tracks on pink vinyl. UPC 602465743791 identifies this colored configuration. The program combines the famous title recording with the full range of Lee’s vintage holiday work, making it more substantial than a single-song reissue or a short modern EP.
