Formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, Paper Bag was known for their improvisational approach, blending elements of jazz, punk, and avant-garde music.
The album features a lineup comprising Greg Segal on guitar and effects, George Radai on bass guitar and effects, Kenny Ryman on keyboards, loops, tape, and effects, and M. Segal on drums, percussion, flute, whistle, and effects.
Recorded live between August 1985 and February 1986, Ticket to Trauma captures the band’s commitment to spontaneous composition, with no overdubs and first takes only.
The album’s production was handled by C. Alleca, who also engineered the recordings. The mixing took place at Platinum Studios in Hollywood, California, and the mastering was done at Greg Lee Processing.
