Roger Eno – Rarities – 180 Gram Vinyl Record
Roger Eno’s Rarities series gathers lesser‑known or previously unreleased pieces that offer fresh insight into his creative process. The 2023 mini‑album Rarities – Piano compiles evocative solo piano tracks such as “The Turning Year (Solo Piano Version)”, “Still Day”, and three “Slow Motion” movements. A vinyl edition includes backing artwork by his daughters Cecily and Lotti Eno.
In October 2024, Eno released the skies: rarities, an eight‑track companion to his 2023 album The Skies, They Shift Like Chords. It includes unreleased session tracks like the string‑orchestra “Breaking The Surface” and the choir/electronic “Patterned Ground” featuring Vocalconsort Berlin. A standout is “Into Silence”, which features guitarist Jon Goddard adding a distinctive layer. The set also revisits acclaimed singles like “Through The Blue (Piano Version)” and “Above And Below”
These collections provide a window into Eno’s compositional breadth beyond his main albums. His minimalist piano style remains central, but the addition of strings, choir and sparse guitar textures expands the emotional landscape. For fans of ambient and neo‑classical music, they deepen appreciation for Eno’s subtle, thoughtful artistry.
